Pawtrait Answers

Here are the pawtrait contest pictures of Bonnie and Victor. The cropped picture of Bonnie's feet replaced the original (dumb software; overwrites by default if you Save after cropping, but not if you simply adjust color). I think with the hints, everyone eventually guessed Victor. Bonnie was fairly easy. Fun game! What's next, ears? Tails? Groan!

I Caught a Flying Mouse!

Mom said I hafs to apologize to Bonnie. So Bonnie, I'm sorry I posted the riddle about you, Bonnie. I thought it was funny, but I guess it hurt your feelings. If you weren't so easily upset...

Ok, now that that's done, I have a really exciting pictor to show you. I caught this MOUSE flying in our HOUSE. See? I broked his airplane. Mom says he's called Chuck and the boy didn't mind even though the mouse was his.

Snow Day, Part 3

I can't resist one last set of snow shots, this time from the front window (Victor helped). Again, the first is 2/15/06 about 8 AM and the second is 24 hours later. The sun and warmer (relatively) temperatures are already melting it, except in back near the house, where it's in shadow all day.

And Victor watching the heavy snow starting about 8:30 AM 2/16/06. We had "thunder snow," thunder and lightning and snow. This is why most Californians don't move to Wisconsin! The Man and I are former Californians who decided we wanted some "real" weather. We got it!

Snow Day, Part 2

Here are some pictures from our snow last week.

Bonnie v Victor

Oh dear...
Victor has been trying to keep Bonnie away from the blog. We've been really busy and didn't realize what was going on. I thought it was just silliness, but I see he went too far.

Bonnie has been ticked off about Victor since I brought him home Oct 29 (V-Day) and she even went on a hunger strike Thanksgiving weekend. She's been a difficult cat all her life (like, permanent PMS), but has hissed and growled at us almost continuously since V-day. She doesn't like Victor to get anywhere near her and she's not happy with us, either. She orders him out of her spots, then huffs away to sulk, so he stays put and wins without a fight. She demands her treats, then growls or hisses when we try to pet her. Did you ever hear a cat hiss with her mouth full?

So I didn't realize what Victor posted, but Bonnie has been angrier than ever - incoherent, in fact. Like a sick cat, she avoided us when we could have helped. I'm giving Victor a time-out from blogging and requesting a public apology. Bonnie can post once she's calmed down, too. In the meantime, maybe I'll write about the cats who came before them, my tuxedo loves, Bigotes and Scruffy. I didn't realize tabbies would be so temperamental.

On the other hand... or paw... I agree that Bonnie has been grumpy, sassy, devilish, mad, and psycho since Victor came. Of course, she's always been a biter. I think Victor is frustrated because he tries to be really nice and Bonnie refuses to get along. I was convinced for years that we couldn't have a second cat, until Victor adopted me. He insisted he'd been searching for me his whole life (8 months) and he was big enough to escape Bonnie or defend himself if necessary, but he wouldn't hurt her unless absolutely necessary. In this case, the post was mightier than the claw. I hope my fuzzies haven't offended.

My Hint

'Nother quick hint, specially if you can'ts see my video. I'm the ONLY ONE wit a toy in my paws! Or I should say, under my paws.

Now, we're having trouble with all the tuxedos and other kitties wif lots of white, but I finks we have... MOooommm - how many we fink we know? 29! That's a lot.

Hints

Someone already guessed me, but here's a hint if you're still stumped by my gorgeous white mittens. As for Victor, the little cow cat is more white than tabby. His pawtrait was taken at the same time as the video, Victor Winding Up. And there are more pictures of us on both our TA Moblogs, The Attack Tabby and Victor Victorious. Happy now? Hmph. I'm going back to sleep.

Snow Day!

Just a quickie - We have a snow day. This school district "never" closes school for weather, but this is the third time in the 6 years the boy has attended. Last night at 7, there was nothing but clouds; but by 10, there were a couple inches and nothing falling. It wasn't snowing around 4 AM (Victor snuggle time) or from 7 to 8 AM, but at 8 it started again - big flakes falling quickly. There's also lightning and thunder, which always surprises me during a snow storm. 8:30 now and near white-out conditions... I have pictures of Victor watching snow and some before & during pictures I'll post later. Thanks to modern technology, I can do some work at home. Ah, well, I should do housework, too. Look at the litter boxes, Lady! - Bonnie
Yes, Bonnie, I know.

Let us Paws to Reflect

Remember when grass was green? Not just green, but green, GREEN, GREEN!

Here's a picture from May 1, 2003; that's May Day. The windows were open so I could really check out the world with all my senses. This is the West Window. It overlooks where the man keeps his big red monster and a couple of terrific bird trees. Most of all, it gets great sun and breezes on summer afternoons.

All day today we've had clouds and I sense a lot of snow coming. Mom and the boy said they're hoping for a "snow day". I'm just happy to be inside and warm. I think Victor should get lost... I mean, he should get to play outside.

Tag! You're it!

We got tagged by our neighbor Derby and Jasper McKitten - Thanks, Derby and Jasper! And I won't hiss you for tagging me.

Here are the rules:
1. Go into your archives.
2. Find your 23rd post.
3. Post the fifth sentence (or closest to it).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag five other people to do the same thing.

She was talking to me, but I didn't understand. -Victor

So I... ok WE tag:
Magoo, Smudge, Bella & Dolce
Buzzerbee & Meep
Opus & Roscoe in Italy
The Crew and
Mad Moses, who can be mad about getting a bath and a Bay B in the same week…
and anyone else who wants to play.

Oops! MSB&D were tagged by Oscar and Jasper; B&M were tagged by Jasper. The Crew were already tagged by Princess Mia. Small web, isn't it? So we'll tag:
Jimmy & Rod,
Henry (he bites - I like that in a cat) and
Max (I can't believe no one else tagged The PsychoKitty yet!)
and anyone else who wants to play.

That's got to be a few cats who weren't already tagged, right? We don't know all of you, but that's part of the fun of a MEME. Or in this case, USUS (no WEWE here, please!).

Thanks, Max!

We winned! We winned! PsychoKitty Max had a contest for who was number 100,000 to read his site, and we were 99,999 and 100,001. Oreo was exactly 100,000, but Mom said we were "runners up" and Thumper (Max’s wonnerful mom) decided we get a prize, too! There was someone else gots 100,001 also because of somfing like hosing the blog on more than one surfer, so Thumper let us all win! I’m good at running up, but I never gots a prize for it before.

Our prizes came today. You can see in the pictor, we gots two (not one, TWO) of those great 8-legged fuzzy beasts Buddah and Tipper enjoy. Now I can stop hinting to Mom!

And if that wasn’t enough, we also gots two (not one, TWO) cans of Stinky Goodness! Thank you, thank you, Max! If Bonnie eats my Stinky Goodness, do I gets her toy?

Cupboard Robbing

Wow, I gots lots of comments about what I learned last weak end. I think cat fish is like cat treats and cat food, so I don't think it was wrong to eat it but my people don't eat cat treats or cat food before giving it to me. They only let me haf a little offa their plates. If cat fish is fish for cats, why not put it in my dish?

My paw trick for the cupboards is not easy. There are no latches, so if I get my toesies in the crack just right, I can pull it open enough to get my nose in. A little careful wiggling of toes and nose, and they're open. I'll ask Mom to take a pictor... after the paw ID contest. Mom says it helps that something inside the cupboad was sticking out just a little so the door didn't close alla way. I don't know; I got 2 cupboards open.

Since there are no latches, I can't get shut in. Mom found me pulling out packets of kitty treats and catnip. She gave me 1 tinsel ball and put 2 in the cupboard, but while Dad was cooking, somehow I managed to get a tinsel ball from the cupboard. Hee, hee, I'm sneaky.

Busy Weekend

It was a weak end again, when Mom and Dad and my boy sleep late and are home lots. Bonnie and I both made the most of it. She even blogged on Dad's laptop on Mom's LAP! Well, the laptop was on Mom's lap, but Bonnie was next to her, touching. Bonnie SNUGGLED!

See?

Did NOT! Mom's legs were on MY blanket. - Bonnie

I got my snuggles with Mom, too. She's not sure about this pictor, but I like it. My boy used the clickie box.

I'm going to be ONE soon! My purrthday is approx March 1. I think approx means it's in the morning, but I'm not sure. I'd ask Bonnie, but she'll just hiss.

I learned bunches of new things this weekend:
  • Mom gots me new tinsel balls
  • Mom puts new cat toys in the cupboards by the cat treats
  • I can open cupboards by myself
  • Tinsel balls come in many colors
  • Moms are sometimes hard to wake up
  • When Mom's asleep, a ball on her face is better than 4 on her feet
  • Going under covers is for snuggling, not wrestling (sorry Mom)
  • People are good for throwing tinsel balls
  • Mom's arms aren't quite long enough to reach alla way unner the couch
  • Cat fish is MUCH better than cat food, even stinky goodness
  • Ham is good too.

I gots to go. It's Mom's bedtime and we hafs to play fetch wif my tinsel ball before I put her to bed. I've set my alarm for 4 again for our special under cover snuggles (I'll try not to sneeze in her face this time).
