Torbie Tuesday

Hello? Is this thing on?

So Adopt Me Already!

Um, hi, I'm Nina. I'm a girl kitty and I just turned one year old. I like licking fingers and burrowing under blankets. They say I'm called a tortoise-shell tabby, but also called me a turtle for peaking out from my blankets. The woman says I'm a torbie since I have black stripes as well as red. She also says I'm pretty, but I knew that already.

Winsome Nina

I'm cautious but not fearful. Since I'm on the small side, I like to stay out of the way and observe my surroundings. I like people; I purr for them and they rub my chin and let me lick their fingers. Laps are nice, too. I'm spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all my shots, and get along well with other pets.

Nina is Sinking

I don't quite believe this is going to be my forever home. I've been through a couple of shelters, an adoption center, and foster homes. With food, water, litter, and blankets available, one place isn't too different from another. It's all the same from under a nice soft blankie.

Successful Meeting

I'd like to make furiends with the big tabby boy kitty, but he's not sure. I understand - this is his territory. He's letting me stay in the room the nice people put me in. When he comes in, I purr, but he doesn't stay long and hisses sometimes. He just doesn't realize yet how much I want to be furiends. I could even groom him. But I'm not coming out just yet. In this box is fine, with nice blankets to burrow under.

UPDATE from Nina: Wow, hi, I never expected to meet so many cats outside a shelter! You're all so kind and beautiful! A nice woman named Ann sent me a picture she created - it's so pretty! It's much nicer than my shelter photos were; I'm putting it here until Victor can help me put it in the right place. This is so wonderful! It's all a little overwhelming - excuse me if I find a spot to hide and observe you all.

UPDATE from Tabbymom Jen: Nina and I wrote this Sunday night. Monday morning, she asked to come out and explore the house. Victor followed her all over the house before they settled in the basement for awhile. Last night, Nina was quite friendly and snugly and Victor was curious but friendly. He snuggled his dad awhile to get back at me for snuggling Nina. They're touching noses, meowing softly to each other, and rubbing against each other. Victor wants to play but Nina's still focusing on people. No fighting, only the slightest growls from Victor on Saturday, and the hissing is long past. Very short adjustment period! Nina slept on our bed last night while Victor slept on the floor. When she got up, he reclaimed his spot on my feet. Tonight the bed may be crowded with furry purry bodies!

  1. We hope you and Victor start hanging out together more so he can see that you are a sweet girl kitty. He isn't used to sweet girl kitties, so give him some time.
