Tabby Tuesday: Girlgoyle

Charcoalie here... Stories from the vacation weeks! The pet sitter got along with us ok. At first, Bonnie greeted him at the door or top of the stairs, growling, but later on, she stayed on the cat towers and just glared at him. Victor was a bit shy but eventually his need for belly rubs took over. The sitter provided plenty of treats along with the necessary care.

There was mischief, of course. One day, Bonnie was sitting right on top of a place mat... in the middle of the table... like a queen on her throne. The sitter guessed (correctly) that only I am allowed on the table, as I don't shed on or eat the bean dinner!

Victor's mischief was more playful... he found a bag of trash Mom thought she took out, tore it open and spread tissue all over the top of the stairs and down the hall. It just happened to be the day the sitter was late. Served him right!

When the beans returned last week, Mom came in first. Victor treated her like she'd been gone all day, not two weeks. Then she followed Victor upstairs. Bonnie was waiting at the top of the stairs and hissed at Victor, then growled at Mom. Well, Mom headed for the treat cupboard, but while Victor did his spins and meowed, Bonnie continued to growl. Then Dad walked in and called to Bonnie. Her tail shot up and she mewed and trotted happily up to him. She's completely devoted to him and ONLY him!

  3. It is important for cats to show those humans who is boss. I think it's great that Bonnie is a watch cat. They should appreciate how much work she is doing by scaring off evil intruders!

  7. Good for you, Bonnie, for letting the Beans know how wrong it is to leave kitties. I like the way you drape your legs over your tub. Authoritative, but graceful.

  8. Hi Victor,
I love a mancat who reads! And yes, I love to read AND play. And snuggle, and watch birds AND snakes. I'm very well-rounded. Like Hillary Clinton says: "I'm Your Girl!!"

I think this is the start of a wonderful friendship!

  21. I am the same way about my Daddy. He is just the best. MOmma is OK when I am hungy or thirsty or need a treat, but Daddy's lap is the one I want and it is Daddy I cuddle up to at night.
