Mom's not sure if Bonnie and Victor are fighting, playing, or just having a heated discussion... Bonnie was there first. Good thing Bonnie is declawed and Victor won't hurt her! Please share your insights into the behaviors shown. The high meows are Victor, while the low growls and hisses are, of course, Bonnie.
Our favorite tabbies do, however, agree on treats. Here they are plotting to remove the soda cans to get into the treat cupboard.
Bonnie has a lion's voice!
ReplyDeleteI think that was along the lines of a heated discussion - about whose chair it was right then! It looks like it got worked out.
seems like Bonnie was mad that Victor moved in on her chair. - Meezer Mom
ReplyDeleteI sound like that (high pitched maos) when I am instigating Sammy into a fight - Miles
We vote for heated discussion.
ReplyDeleteThere's heavy stuff sitting in front of cabinets at our house, too. Sometimes if you work together, you can get it moved. And then it's a free for all with the treats!!!
For a moment there I thought you meant you were thinking about having a coke!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a quiet cat when I attack, but Gemini is a high pitched sort of talker...
Bonnie had a very no-nonsense rebuttal. I think she let Victor win that one because she had something better to do.
ReplyDeleteYour buddy, Jimmy Joe
Victor wants to play and Bonnie is not in the mood for it.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand: probably Victor just wants to have the seat of the chair for himself - and it looks like he succeeded!
Anastasia does the same to me, I usually don't hiss and growl that load and leave a bit earlier...
Karl
P.S. Don't miss to see one unhappy cat in Groucho Marx glasses!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am giving away a price.
Karl
I think Victor was trying to extend the Paw of Friendship, but Bonnie needs to think it over for a while.
ReplyDeleteVictor... step away from the chair.
ReplyDeleteOh, we thawt dat Sadie and Zippy fawt loud! Well, it's not really fighting, just a major disagreement on who gets to sit where and when. The funny thing is, all three were sleeping in the living room when this started playing and they all jumped up and looked at each other like "who's fighting" and when they realized it wasn't any of them they all ran back and forth to the windows trying to see the "cat fight" outside! I played it three times because it was just so funny to watch them look out the window, look at each other then run to another window, in tendem! It's the first time in weeks they've all been together without the girls having a fight of their own.
ReplyDeleteThey wuz juss havin a heated diskucusshun! It all werked out. Gud fing we kitties knoos how to reesolve our talks wif one anutter.

Abby
Oh Victor!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to hear your sweet, sweet voice!
You whapped her good at the end, huh?
I must tell you that when I played this and had the volume up, Bianca woke from her couch, very startled, and starting looking around for the fighting cats. The dawg ran to the front door to look outside for the fighting cats. And she is still looking now at the back door! HA!
You're even cuter in person than I hoped.
Sadie
Wowie, Bonnie, she seems a bit miffed that Victor is talking with her. We think she just wants him to go away and leave her alone right now! Maybe he told her that her butt was big. That can really set off a girl!
ReplyDeletePrinnie gets crabby with me and screams at me, but she usually makes the situation sound worse than it actually is.
I have a high voice like you do Victor.
We agrees dat it wuz a heated dis-cus-shun, we haves thems like dat sumtimes too!
ReplyDeleteT.F.S.
I think that they were fighting over that comfy lookin' chair. I've never heard kitty growls like that before. Clyde and I so far have never acted like that towards each other. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteVictor: "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you"
ReplyDeleteBonnie: "Stop it, stay on your side, don't touch me"
Victor: "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you"
Bonnie: "Stop it, Stop it, Stop it! Stay on your side, don't touch me"
Victor: "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you...."
I think you guys were having a heated discussion over who gets to sit in the chair - it appears Bonnie won in the end : )
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of you two by the treat cupboard.
NO TOUCHY!
ReplyDeleteSounds ALOT like owr howse!! We does that all the time....about efurrything!!

Othello totally freaked out when he heard the sound of this video...

I thought at first that Victor was trying very hard to be friends with Bonnie, until he whapped her right at the end. Now I think he was probably teasing her.
ReplyDeleteMy old lady Kali who was on the armrest of my chair got up to investigate the speakers of my laptop. And she rarely moves ever.
ReplyDeleteI think Victor was challenging Bonnie for the chair. He wanted to assert himself knowing she's topcat and not going to be happy about it.
Man, they sounds like me and Buddah. I growl at him, he meows back like a little girl... =sigh=
ReplyDeleteWhen I growl at him it's because at the moment, I don't really like him. Which is most of the time. He meows because he's either being a sissy boy, telling on me, or trying to fast talk his way out of a Max Special.
Since we don't do it ALL the time, the Woman doesn't worry. She just shakes that finger at me and says NO GROWLING. Like that works...
I sure wouldn't get between them. FAZ
ReplyDeleteLOL!! That's hilarious--the picture of them in front of the cabinet. And who doesn't have a heated discussion now and then?
ReplyDeleteWow Bonnie you sure do have a deep growl. Deeper than mine.
ReplyDeleteTo move the soda, just knock it over. Apply pressure at the top and PUSH.
We think it was a heated discussion as well. Ernest was very curious when I played this video!
ReplyDeleteScout will hold out his paw like that when he wants to instigate playtime with Shaggy. Got quite a response from my 3 when they heard the audio too! -SSS's Mom
ReplyDeleteBonnie, we love a gal who can fight her own fights, and resolve her own conflicts. -Scooby & Shaggy
Wow Victor, I'm impressed that you stood your ground and let Bonnie have it! Yes, the two of you were having quite the heated discussion. So far, Kavan hasn't tried to do such a thing to me....
ReplyDeleteTara
Clearly a case of Victor explaining that he was there first. We do that type of thing here too.
ReplyDeleteMommy and Daddy don't speak cat as well as they should and they get concerned but we always work it out.
Oh my goodness we had da volume up reeely high on da puter and we almost had a heart attack when Bonnie yelled! They are definitely haffing domination issues. Victor is testing his limits and Bonnie let him know she's in charge.
ReplyDeleteooh - just like our house, 'cept Victor is Cocoa and Bonnie is me (Grr), but Bonnie's much louder - I'm impressed! when Cocoa does that to me, he's trying to get me to play or fight or play fight or anything, just so I'll pay attention to him. then I growl, hiss and whap him. then I run away, but because I don't want to bother with him, not because I'm scared of the little twerp.
ReplyDeleteGrr
Well, that looks like many of the heated discussions that occur here on a regular basis. Maw turned on the speakers and now all of us are up wondering where those fighting poodins are at!!!
ReplyDeleteLuf, Us
Ohhh that is scary. Bonnie has a low grumble roar... we would not have teased her much. Victor you are very brave.
ReplyDeleteYour Faces... AWWWWWWW... in the steal the can pic.... awesome smiles! hehehe evil plots!
Purrs (sorry we was away a bit - the human is confused always heheehe)
Angus' Mom here-yep, I'd agree with the majority, a fight over territory. Victor was first and wasn't giving in and Bonnie was none too pleased over that! Good thing they're otherwise amicable!
