Still Sinking

Vut are you sinking about?
Very funny, Victor.

I have a story for you. A tabby tale, so to speak. I allow my people up to two weeks vacation per year; it seems to improve morale. Well, one year they offered to put me up in a Cat Hotel. Ha! "Cat Hotel" indeed! It was a KENNEL, and a hovel at that.

Well, I did my time, working out my frustrations on the inadequate staff. Those poorly trained dog-lovers were easily intimidated by my snarls, growls, hisses, and swats. It's not like I was going to actually hurt anyone!

Sure, there was food and fresh water and the litter was clean, but confinement disagrees with me. Too many dogs, and no sink to lie in!

When the man FINALLY returned for me, I refused to let ANYONE take me from the cage but him. He's MINE, and he's the ONLY person I trust. Well, I gave him a piece of my mind for leaving me there; I meowed myself hoarse, listing their transgressions.

I made a new rule then and there: NO KENNELS. No "Cat Hotels". No "Boarding". There's no place like home. Ever since, when they dare to leave me, they've hired underlings to serve me in my home. Home is where my sink is.

  1. Good for you my gorgeous fiestly Bonnie! You have to show them how you feel and obviously you won't have to repeat your message. I also completely agree about sinks...they are the BEST place to take a nap.

Big Purrs to my Most Fiesty Charmer! I do like 'em fiesty.

  3. Bonnie

YOU are right! NO CAT MOTELS! If our beans have to leave then they better hire someone to come in and feed us and clean out our boxes.

FANK YOU FANK YOU FANK YOU!!! I gotta my Secret Paws yesterday and I loved everything! I was even a good girl and shared my stash with Boo, Ping and Jinx and Gracie. There was so much I didn't want to hog it all for myself. Momma posted pictures. She said that she didn't do a good job of getting pictures cuz I was so wiggly and she didn't use her flashy fing cuz she knows I hate it. SO I look a little fuzzy in some pictures. Momma I wuz just enjoyin all of my toys and treats!

  4. my mommie has that same electrric toothbrush.

kitty "hotels" are really prisons, and at night it turns into a horrilble insane asylum.... We absolutely abhor staying in those facilities. We also have hired servants.

YOu look so happy in the sink. That is your place sweetie

  5. Maybe you can stay at the kittyplace Skeezix went to? He seemed to give it good reviews.

(But I'm with you, I'd rather stay home. Maybe not in the sink, but still home.)

  6. I used to go to a place that mom called the "Kitty Spa" and I liked the skylite suites with a little tree and three levels to climb on and the play room but it still used to stress me out. Now that I have a brother mom has someone come in and take care of us here if she needs to go away for awhile.

  9. Home is the very best of all. My Lap Lady lets us stay home and our nice neighbor takes care of us. But luckily my Lap Lady usually stays home! Willow likes to lay in the sink too!

  14. And an excellent rule that is; I have recent experience myself in a cat condo - hmpf! (Even though there weren't any woofies.)

  17. I totally agree with you, Victor! You tell them! We make mommy and daddy find their furriends or, more recently, hire a catsitter for us. No "cat hotels" for us, thankyouverymuch!!

  18. Good for you for putting your paw down, Bonnie. Home is the very best place for kitties -- always.

  19. That's the way to tell them Bonnie. It's better to have hired help or friends than stinky kennels!! You so cute in the sink!!

  20. Saying home is the best - much less stress. Although stress is our middle name right now. If both Mommy and Daddy go at the same time, they hire servants to either stay the whole time or at least come twice a day. The boarding places in KC are mostly OK, but not geared toward felines.

  21. Bonnie you are very smart - there is no place like home! I refuse to go to a cat "hotel" too. I do just fine with a bean coming in each day to satisfy my needs!

  22. Yur right Bonnie. Da home is where da sinkie is. Hyoomans, do not take us owt of our cassel. If yoo must go on baycashun yoo need to do it on yur own terms and take care of us extra speshul.

  23. That is too bad that your kittie hotel is not as nice as my kittie spa. But at least your beans are good to hire extra staff to keep you at home.

  24. And there you go. Very well stated Bonnie.

Maw has worked at vets and she says the last place anybody should ever board their cats is at a vet's. Yup.

Since there became 10 of us, Maw & Paw don't go anywhere. We make too much of a mess and need too many medicines and special foods, and everything else..... So we have entrapped our slaves here with us.

  25. You said it, sister! When Mom goes places, we get a "cat sitter" ... and the "sitter" has to come twice a day to clean the boxes, feed/water, and give pets. Home is far better than ANY "kitty hotel" ...

  29. he he good for you I don't like the idea of a cat hotel it sounds horrific. I am happy you have extra servants for those times when you allow your staff to have a holiday. Might I add how kind you are to allow this.
